PCoB, together with the Bayfield Centre for the Arts (BCA), have initiated a new photography project, not unlike the calendar project, specifically for PCoB members and their friends. The BCA is creating a Virtual Gallery photo exhibition for launch sometime in August and is looking for contributions from the PCoB. This is one way of building a partnership with the BCA as we all promote the visual arts in the Bayfield area. Virtual Gallery software has been identified and the visitor will have a life-like Gallery experience. The same Gallery software will be used later in the fall to capture the excitement of the annual Fall Foto Fest Photo exhibition and competition and make it even easier for people to contribute.
Here is the idea
The artistic challenge is to capture the unique, historical and mystical quality of barns from the past. Many of these barns are on residential properties in Bayfield and in other small Huron County towns and villages. They are often used as garden sheds, bicycle storage or antique shops ...or left to gather vines and show off the fading paint of past owners. These buildings have unique stories that can only be told through the lens of a creative photographer.
We aspire to have you capture these barns in wide shots, close-ups, sun, rain and at all angles, allowing the gallery viewer to see the story of The Barns of Bayfield and Beyond as a unique collection in an online gallery exhibit for BCA! Full credit will be given to PCoB for this partnership creation.
Unlike for the calendar, there are no restrictions to format and since the exhibition is on-line, any photos larger than 1.5 Mpixels will be accepted. So get out your smartphone as well as your camera…and also search through your archives. All photos will remain the property of the photographer and full credit will be given for all photos selected. Please submit your name and identification of your photo and add any other information that you would like included to accompany the photo
