More info: A nice summary from the Ontario Pharmacists Association: On April 8, 2024, North America will experience a total solar eclipse, with many communities in Southern Ontario falling in the path of totality, where the moon's shadow will entirely block the sun. Canada will not experience another total solar eclipse until 2044, so it may be a once-in-a-lifetime event for many Ontarians. Communities that fall within the path of totality should anticipate seeing an exceptionally large influx of tourism due to the eclipse. Unusual backstory: My Mennonite neighbour asked me to take him to visit this Amish family near St. Helens. He wanted a favour and offered to trade: His drawing of them harvesting grain with their 100 yr old steam engine and thresher. My job was to take a photo of them and then he'd do the drawing at home from the photo. So 1) this is NOT okay to do without permission; 2) Notice that most of them are looking away from the camera per instructions from the senior Amish guy sitting on the steam engine and 3) please do NOT copy this photo. Thanks!

Okay - worked on the background. The "ice"is actually one of the cedar rails so I left it alone. Background is better I think.

Neat idea. Yes this was a very extreme crop and through a window. Part of what turned out to be interesting, academically, is that it has a band on its leg. Didn't know that was a thing for these little guys. I'll have a go but I reprocessed it in LR before posting and had NO luck with the background. I'll try again. Thanks!

Wow! That is pretty cool! I think you can darken the background though and it will make him stand out more. But it is tricky or it looks fake.

To me the magic of this gorgeous shot is the smaller wolf looking out of the frame to the right. I did an 8.5x11 crop in PS with the eye of that smaller wolf in the upper right 1/3 of the rule-of-thirds grid. Brought it into sharper focus as the main subject. Try that? See if you like the effect.

Love the colour and composition. If it were me I'd crop out the top left corner so you don't see the sky or eaves or shadow of the eaves.

Jack, I love this shot. I think it is very slightly crooked. If you drop it into PS you can straighten it with the crop tool of course.

Might be worth trying to selectively brighten the eye. Make it sparkle a bit.

Web display favours this orientation but printed and mounted I think horizontal would favour it a lot. Great shot!
